Hussein Ammouta readies surprise for Al Ahly defense
Al Ahly's technical director, Hussein Amouta, is planning to field Moroccan defender Ashraf Darri in the match against Petroleum Asyut in the Egypt Cup, with the goal of preparing the player for the upcoming phase and restoring match fitness ahead of the anticipated league encounter with Zamalek. This step comes amid defensive injuries that have affected the team, such as Yasser Ibrahim and Amr Gazar, and presents an opportunity to improve the defender’s performance before official matches. Al Ahly will face Petroleum Asyut next Wednesday in the first round of the group stage, a match that is important as part of the preparations for the upcoming top-of-the-table clash against Zamalek in the league.
