Ecuador's draw halts Egypt's ranking rise
The Ecuador vs. Panama match in the Kirin Cup ended in a 1-1 draw before Panama won on penalties 7-6, leading to Egypt's inability to regain the 24th spot in the FIFA rankings, which it lost yesterday after a 1-0 defeat to South Africa. Despite Egypt's loss, Ecuador maintained its advance with a slight decrease of 1.08 points, keeping its ranking higher than Egypt's as of the October 7 update. As a result, Egypt dropped from 24th to 25th place, losing 6.22 points to reach a total of 1,585.16 points, while remaining third in the African ranking behind Morocco and Senegal.
