De-Kaf Festival Hosts New Workshops
The Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival "De-Caf" in its fourteenth edition aims to open new spaces for learning and dialogue around performing, visual, and musical arts. The festival is organized from October 11 to November 2, 2026, and features a series of artistic workshops and discussion sessions involving experts and artists from Egypt, Spain, Hungary, Palestine, and Northern Ireland. The workshops vary from training on the international art market, room reading, comic documentation, and architecture photography using smartphones, to discussions on performance arts, Palestinian storytelling, and the influence of historic mosques on society. The program seeks to foster dialogue and the exchange of artistic practices and concludes with discussion events on feminist practices in the arts and the historical impact of the Al-Ahmadi Mosque, alongside a comprehensive showcase of various forms of contemporary art in the heart of Cairo.
