The Ministry of Social Solidarity in Egypt successfully transferred a 77-year-old elderly man from the street in the Abu Slieman area of Alexandria to a care home after his family refused to accept him due to his financial difficulties and inability to pay. The elderly man was sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the Al-Khulafa Al-Rashideen Mosque and was suffering from a weak pension and the inability to continue at previous care homes, despite prior efforts and support from the community. The swift intervention team began an investigation with him, conducted medical examinations, and provided him with a safe place that ensures proper care and stability. This reflects the ministry’s commitment to protecting the elderly and providing them with a dignified life.
