Syria mulls military aid to Saudi Yemen
Syria is studying the possibility of providing military assistance to Saudi Arabia in the context of the escalating war against the Houthis in Yemen. Possible options include defensive support to protect Saudi Arabia from attacks or deploying offensive forces to support Saudi-aligned Yemeni forces in fighting the Houthis. These statements came after the Syrian president's visit to Riyadh and his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, during which both parties discussed the possibility of military cooperation, though the Syrian government is currently focusing on internal priorities such as recovering from the civil war.
