AFP: Riyadh experiences two blast incidents
Riyadh experienced powerful explosions, as the Yemen-based Houthis continue to escalate their attacks on Saudi Arabia using ballistic missiles and drones. They targeted Abha and King Khalid airports after previous strikes that resulted in three deaths and 36 injuries. This comes amid intensifying fighting in Yemen, which has led to the displacement of over 200,000 people. The Houthis have taken control of the western coast and have targeted Saudi infrastructure, with Saudi Arabia confirming the interception of several attacks and the destruction of Houthi military targets. Meanwhile, the airspace over King Khalid Airport repeatedly closes due to ongoing military operations in the region.
