Turkish Union discharges Montella
The Turkish Football Federation announced the termination of the Italian coach Vincenzo Montella's tenure following the negative results achieved by the national team in its last four matches in the UEFA Nations League, where they lost all games against France, Italy, and Belgium. This step came in response to widespread public demand and public outrage. It is highly likely that Shakhtar Donetsk's manager, Arda Turan, will be the leading candidate to take over the Turkish national team in the upcoming period. Since taking charge of the Turkish team in September 2023, Montella recorded 21 wins in 40 matches, but the team failed to secure any victory in their last four games.
