Ben Affleck on revealing true selves in Animals
Ben Affleck revealed that when he read the script for the film "Animals," which focuses on uncovering our true selves when masks we wear fall away, he decided to bring this project to the big screen. The film tells the story of a candidate running for mayor of Los Angeles whose life and campaign are turned upside down after he and his wife receive a phone call about their child's kidnapping. As events unfold, various aspects of their characters are revealed, exposing their true intentions. Affleck wanted the film to reflect the social and cultural diversity of Los Angeles, where Spanish and English coexist, illustrating the city’s nature as a melting pot of cultures and social classes. The movie offers an in-depth look at the reality of people when masks are removed, realistically portraying struggles and contradictions within the city, enhanced by the use of Mexican actors to add authenticity.
