Mahmoud Abbas, the honorary president of Zamalek Club, responded to reports claiming that players were being awarded huge bonuses to motivate them against Al Ahly. He confirmed that he had not spoken with any media outlet about this matter and that there is a regulation governing bonus allocations in coordination with the club’s management. This statement came ahead of the Cairo Derby between Zamalek and Al Ahly, scheduled for today in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League at Cairo Stadium. The league standings are closely contested, with Pyramids leading with 15 points, followed by Zamalek in second place with 13 points, edging out Al Ahly on goal difference, as they both have the same number of points.
