2026 winter time change approaches
Egypt will begin implementing the winter time (standard time) for 2026 starting Friday, October 30, after the conclusion of daylight saving time, which started on April 24, 2026. During this change, the clock will be turned back by 60 minutes to return to the normal time, according to Law No. 24 of 2023. This change does not alter the official school schedules, but students and parents should review official announcements to adjust their attendance times. Additionally, it is necessary to activate the automatic clock setting feature on smartphones to ensure compliance with the new time.
