The Court of Appeal for Criminal Matters in Damanhour has reduced the death sentence of a defendant who killed his brother in Beheira to 15 years of hard labor in prison. The incident dates back to the discovery of a man's body, handcuffed and found among the bushes in the Abu al-Matamir area. It was revealed that the defendant, a 48-year-old driver, admitted to helping another person in the murder of the victim. A previous death sentence had been issued against the defendants, but the appellate court reduced the punishment in an attempt by the victim's father to waive his rights and avoid the execution of his other son.
