The Court of First Instance in Port Said has referred the case of a suspect who assaulted a girl with disabilities to the Mufti for a legal opinion. The court emphasized that the maximum punishment should be death by hanging. The incident dates back to the assault by the defendant on a girl with mental disability. Prosecutors called for a deterrent sentence commensurate with the severity of the crime of betrayal and the violation of human dignity, affirming that protecting people with disabilities is a sacred duty and a protected right. The court heard the evidence and medical reports that revealed the heinous nature of the crime, amidst calls for the strictest penalties to serve as a lesson for anyone who breaches the sanctity and safety of individuals with disabilities.
