Receivers Reveal Shop Activity in Abdin
The police forces in Cairo succeeded in apprehending a shop in the Abdin area that was selling “receiver” devices equipped to illegally decode encrypted satellite channels for profit. The shop was targeted after monitoring its activity and conducting investigations, which revealed that the devices were not ordinary but contained special systems for decoding without a license, constituting a violation of intellectual property rights law. The suspect, who is an accomplice alongside the shop owner, admitted that the activity was aimed at making financial gains. The necessary legal procedures have been taken to seize the devices and refer the case for legal accountability.
