President Sisi cautions on degrading national memory online
During the Egypt 2026 Forum, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized the importance of preserving national memory and enhancing awareness to confront attempts to undermine it through social media platforms. He stressed that these attempts are part of a broader struggle aimed at affecting Egypt, which is characterized by a large population and a pivotal role in the region. He stated that the stability achieved in recent years, after significant sacrifices including martyrs from the armed forces and police, comes at a cost of blood, and that it is the duty of the people to safeguard these achievements. Additionally, he warned of the dangers of using social media in ways that foster division and aim to destroy the country. He reaffirmed the responsibility of families to monitor their children and to strike a balance between technological advancement and preserving national identity.
