Hajith's Secret Meeting with Netanyahu
Axios reported that U.S. Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, held a secret meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Ouvda Air Force Base in southern Israel during an undisclosed visit to the area. The discussion reportedly covered topics including the potential resurgence of conflict against Iran. This visit comes after U.S. President Donald Trump endorsed Netanyahu in the Israeli elections and appears to be an effort to prevent Netanyahu from making any surprises regarding Iran ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. It was not clarified whether other Israeli officials were present, and the parties declined to comment on the details of the meeting.
