Environment and Social Solidarity Agencies to Collaborate on Climate Projects

A cooperation protocol has been announced between the Ministries of Environment and Local Development, and the Ministry of Social Solidarity, to enhance the environmental projects implemented by civil society organizations in Egypt. The goal is to improve their impact and align with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030. The protocol aims to coordinate efforts related to financing, evaluation, monitoring, and development of projects concerning climate, waste management, afforestation, pollution control, circular economy, and sustainable development. It also involves establishing a unified electronic database and an interactive map to monitor performance, promote efficiency, and enable early detection of challenges. The agreement focuses on empowering civil society to execute projects with environmental, social, and economic impact, standardizing technical criteria, providing training, building organizational capacities, and ensuring alignment with national policies on environmental and climate issues.
