Egypt Electricity Minister on Loss Rates

The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy in Egypt confirmed that the loss rates in the electricity network are in line with global standards. Technical losses in transmission lines are less than 5%, while distribution networks experience around 10% losses. He also pointed out that losses resulting from electricity theft and network tampering do not exceed 7%, and this issue is being addressed through strict legal enforcement. These figures are part of the sector's efforts to reduce losses and improve network efficiency, with a focus on maintenance programs and expanding renewable energy sources.
