Ramy Sabry, Farco’s sporting director, revealed that coach Mohamed Attia was sacked after the team’s 3–0 loss to Masar, following a confrontation that escalated in the dressing room. He said Attia and assistant coach Moataz Mahrous assaulted a player, including by hitting and choking him. Sabry added that Attia later objected to how the player had been disciplined. In Sabry’s view, the coach had been getting good results in regular matches but losing the big ones; he cited Farco’s exit from the Egypt Cup at the hands of Misr Insurance. The club appointed Amir Azmy Megahed to lead the team in its bid to return to the Premier League.
