A rare page from a Qur’an dating back more than 700 years, believed to have been produced in Baghdad around 1310, will be offered at Christie’s auction in London on November 12, with an estimate of £50,000 to £70,000. The page contains the first three verses of Surah Al-Humazah, written in gilded muhaqqaq script and framed by intricate Islamic ornamentation. Its decorations are attributed to the artist Muhammad ibn Aybak ibn Abdullah.
