Egypt’s Automatic Pricing Committee kept petroleum product prices unchanged despite rising global oil prices. A liter costs 24 Egyptian pounds for 95-octane gasoline, 22.25 pounds for 92-octane gasoline, 20.75 pounds for 80-octane gasoline, and 20.5 pounds for diesel. The price of a cubic meter of gas for vehicles is 13 pounds. The decision coincided with the start of a month-long pilot of an electronic system to track fuel distribution in Port Said Governorate, aimed at detecting abnormal consumption and strengthening oversight.
