Orabi Questions Ahly Form

Osama Orabi said Al Ahly’s results under Hussein Ammouta have been good, but their performances have been unconvincing. He said the wins were down to the players’ experience, while the new signings had made no clear impact in attack and none had shown themselves to be a standout player. He also pointed to the defenders’ struggles in dealing with balls and the lack of attacking solutions. In his view, responsibility was shared between the coach and some of the players. He criticized the limited playing time given to Hussein El Shahat and youngsters Omar Sayed Moawad and Mohamed Abdallah. Orabi said that in January Al Ahly need a standout centre-back and a striker, unless Soufiane Benjdida and Moncef Bakrar improve their performances.
