President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed the need to reach a political consensus to contain the escalation in the Middle East during a phone call with his Finnish counterpart, Alexander Stubb. He underscored the importance of dialogue and support for mediators’ efforts. The call also addressed the Palestinian issue. El-Sisi called for implementing the agreement to end the war in Gaza, allowing humanitarian aid to enter and reconstruction to begin, and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the basis of a two-state solution. The two presidents also discussed the crisis in Ukraine and bilateral relations.
