The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has nominated Egypt’s national team for the 2026 Best National Team award, alongside nine other teams on the shortlist: Ghana, Algeria, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia. The nomination follows Egypt’s reaching the Round of 16 at the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico for the first time in its history, as well as securing its first-ever win in the tournament. The winner is due to be announced at the CAF Awards ceremony on December 7 in Lagos, Nigeria.
