Aswan Governor Amr Lashin praised the efforts of the Security Directorate, led by Major General Abdullah Galal, to crack down on fuel smuggling. At the al-Saba’iya desert checkpoint, officers seized 13,500 liters of diesel and two vehicles used in smuggling. Campaigns also seized 600 liters of diesel being transported on a motorized tricycle in Aswan District. The governor said inspections would continue to be stepped up and legal measures taken to ensure fuel reaches those entitled to it.
