Visual artist and environmental engineer Nada Darwish founded the “Tram Alwan” initiative five years ago to bring art and environmental awareness together. It uses secondhand materials and waste in activities that help children and women discover their potential and express themselves. The initiative offers workshops in printmaking, reuse, product design, and art installations, encouraging experimentation rather than drawing and coloring from ready-made templates. No special talent or previous experience is required. The initiative faces challenges with funding and financial sustainability, while working to secure a permanent space and expand its reach to more areas and governorates.
