Trump Appeals Carroll Ruling to Supreme Court
The US Supreme Court declined Donald Trump's request to review the 2023 verdict that found him liable for sexually abusing and defaming writer E Jean Carroll, upholding a $5 million civil judgment. The decision confirms the jury’s verdict and ends Trump’s legal efforts to challenge it. Trump had denied the allegations, which stemmed from claims that he raped Carroll in the 1990s, and had sought to overturn the ruling.
