US invests $4bn in UK nuclear storage
The US government plans to invest over $4 billion to upgrade military and spy bases in the UK, including constructing new nuclear storage facilities and enhancing covert operations infrastructure. Key projects involve major expenditures at RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall, and Fairford, with some funds allocated for nuclear weapon facilities returning to Lakenheath after nearly two decades. These developments highlight the UK's role in US military strategies, amid ongoing questions about the presence and transparency of nuclear weapons stationed there.
