Tottenham secures Mateus Fernandes for £85m
Tottenham Hotspur is set to break its transfer record by signing midfielder Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for £85 million, beating Manchester United’s bid. Fernandes, who previously played for Southampton and West Ham, will strengthen Tottenham’s midfield options after West Ham’s relegation. The deal is expected to be completed following a medical, with Fernandes’s sale expected to help West Ham address financial losses and rebuild after dropping to the Championship.
