Aviation hero's granddaughter uncovers past
Judy Bain, now 81, discovered she is the granddaughter of Arthur Whitten Brown, who co-piloted the first nonstop transatlantic flight in 1919. Her father, Buster Brown, was a Royal Air Force pilot who died during World War II, leaving Judy unaware of her heritage for most of her life. Her family history was uncovered through DNA research, revealing her connection to a legendary aviation figure, and she now hopes to participate in commemorations of Brown’s historic flight.
