Fernando Mendoza's Raiders outlook worsens
Fernando Mendoza's start with the Las Vegas Raiders may worsen, as head coach Klint Kubiak has not guaranteed him the backup quarterback role. While Kirk Cousins is expected to be the starter, Mendoza and Aidan O'Connell are competing for the reserve position, with Kubiak stating no final decision has been made. This leaves open the possibility that Mendoza could begin his rookie season as the third quarterback, despite being the first overall pick, which is unusual for a top draft selection.
