Kirk Cousins Secures Raiders QB1 Role
The Las Vegas Raiders have named Kirk Cousins as their starting quarterback for the 2026 season opener against the Miami Dolphins, confirming their decision after camp. Rookie Fernando Mendoza, drafted first overall, will begin his development behind Cousins, reflecting the team's patience with his growth. Despite Mendoza's potential and backing from Tom Brady, the Raiders prioritize his continued learning through necessary repetitions before considering him as the long-term starter.
