Patriots' clever ploy to disrupt kickersdisclosed
A former NFL analyst uncovered evidence suggesting the New England Patriots used a deception tactic at Gillette Stadium by displaying a reverse-angle image behind visiting kickers, creating an optical illusion of four uprights instead of two. This setup aimed to confusion opponents during field goals, and the effect was consistently observed from 2012 to 2020, though Patriots’ own kick attempts did not employ the trick. The discovery highlights the Patriots’ attention to detail and innovative strategies under Bill Belichick's coaching.
