Fernando Mendoza faces tough rookie start
The Las Vegas Raiders have named Kirk Cousins as their starting quarterback for the 2026 NFL season, sidelining rookie Fernando Mendoza, the top draft pick. Expert analysis suggests Cousins will likely remain the starter until at least the team's bye week in Week 13, allowing Mendoza time to develop without pressure. This decision emphasizes a long-term approach, with the team prioritizing Cousins' experience while gradually preparing Mendoza for future opportunities.
