Amenaza de secuestros a aviones israelíes desde los 70
A recent thwarted hijacking attempt of a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv has revived Israel’s historical concern over airplane hijackings, particularly from the 1960s and 1970s. Israel maintains strict security measures on its airline, El Al, including undercover agents, double-door access, and extensive passenger interrogations. Historically, the most notable hijacking was in 1968, which resulted in a prolonged 40-day standoff and the release of Palestinian prisoners, while other attempts in later years were thwarted or resulting in military rescue operations. Since then, no hijacking attempts have succeeded, although there have been isolated bombing or attack threats against flights in and out of Israel.
