The Canary site shuts down after campaign
The left-wing news website The Canary has announced its indefinite closure due to sustained attacks, financial difficulties, and allegations of internal turmoil. Founded in 2015, it cited harassment, false claims by former employees, and banking issues—such as access to funds being blocked—as reasons for shutting down. Despite efforts to publish further details, the outlet stated it was unable to sustain its operations amid these challenges.
