Bruno Fernandes said Michael Carrick was right to drop him after Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat by Como, acknowledging he had not been performing and accepting the decision after criticising the manager’s tactics. Fernandes then scored a twice-taken penalty as United came back from 2-0 down to beat Roma at Old Trafford, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice. Fernandes said the win was needed by the club and players, while Carrick praised the atmosphere at Old Trafford.
