Saudi Arabia Conducts First Robotic Lumbar Spine Surgery

A medical team in Saudi Arabia successfully performed the first specialized surgical procedure using the minimally invasive technique assisted by the robot «ExcelsiusGPS» to treat lumbar vertebral friction. The operation was successful and utilized advanced technologies, including precise surgical navigation and the robotic system, which helped restore the patient's ability to walk within the first hour after the procedure. This achievement is part of the efforts by the Prince Naif Center for Excellence and Medical Innovation to enhance spinal surgery services and employ modern technologies, aiming to improve the quality of care and accelerate patient recovery.
