AstraZeneca uses AI to speed drug discovery

AstraZeneca is collaborating with Oracle to utilize artificial intelligence and real-world data to accelerate patient selection processes and clinical trials for medications, especially in the fields of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory conditions, autoimmune disorders, and rare diseases. This partnership aims to address the challenge of patient recruitment, which causes delays in trials and increases development costs, and also supports early diagnosis of serious illnesses. The project begins with a study on hypertension in Abu Dhabi and is part of AstraZeneca's efforts to expand its drug portfolio and achieve revenues exceeding $80 billion by 2030, focusing on improving the efficiency of clinical research and reducing the time and costs associated with drug development.
