On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Al-Hussein, the leader of the Sadrist Movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, issued a statement affirming that anyone who is pleased with, cooperates with, or remains silent about his killing has broken God's covenant with the Ahl al-Bayt. He threatened with his tongue a curse upon the Umayyad and Yazid dynasties, emphasizing that Imam Al-Hussein is a symbol of reform and that the Day of Ashura is a day of victory for blood over corruption.
