Reconstruction Coalition details Adnan Al-Jumaili inquiry
The "Reconstruction and Development" Coalition revealed that the investigation into the former Oil Ministry official, Adnan Al-Jumaili, began before his arrest warrant was issued, and continued during the government of Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. They clarified that gathering evidence took several months, and that the case was in an advanced stage of completion before the judiciary issued the arrest order. They also confirmed that the investigation went through long phases of monitoring and collecting evidence prior to the announcement of the arrest, and that the incident accelerated the proceedings. Additionally, they stressed that corruption in the sector remains limited and that performance should not be confined to a single individual.
