The article highlights the importance of Iraq's cultural heritage as an untapped economic resource. It possesses thousands of archaeological sites dating back to the civilizations of Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, and Assyria, but most of them are not effectively exploited due to issues related to infrastructure, promotion, and investment. The report emphasizes the need to develop a comprehensive national strategy to increase excavations, boost archaeological tourism, and improve services, aiming to transform this cultural wealth into a diverse economic resource that helps reduce reliance on oil.
