U.S. and Iran may agree on Strait deal soon
U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, has affirmed that the United States may reach an agreement with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz either today or tomorrow. Shipping traffic through the strait is expected to improve significantly as many vessels depart. The proposed plan involves Iran overseeing the entry of ships, while Oman manages the departure routes, with Iran retaining the right to intervene when necessary. Tehran emphasizes that any agreement must address its security concerns, while Washington insists on full freedom of navigation through the strait as a fundamental condition for any final understanding.
