France closes 3 nuclear plants amid heatwave
France has suspended the operation of three nuclear reactors today, Tuesday, due to a heatwave and drought that have led to a drop in water levels, as part of environmental measures to ensure safe operation. Two reactors at the Chooz plant and one at the Ardèche plant were shut down, along with a reduction in output from several other reactors. These measures come amid record temperatures exceeding 50°C since May, which have impacted the country's energy and water resources.
