Parliament Calls Emergency Session on Regional Tensions
The Iraqi Parliament has issued a broad invitation, signed by 148 deputies, to hold an emergency session next week to discuss the financial crisis and the delay in salary payments. The deputies confirmed that the session will address the overall economic situation, including the reasons behind the salary delays and the measures that can be taken to ensure their continuation. Additionally, the discussion will cover regional escalation threats that pose a risk to the area. This comes amid worsening economic conditions and the delayed regular payment of salaries, which directly affects the livelihoods of employees and retirees and increases economic tension.
