Kurdistan assigns electric car plates with lightning symbol
The article focused on the Kurdistan Regional Government's decision to assign a lightning bolt symbol to the license plates of electric and hybrid (Plug-in) vehicles to distinguish them from fuel-powered cars, aiming to enhance safety. The spokesperson for Erbil Traffic Police explained that this distinction makes it easier for emergency and firefighting teams to quickly identify the vehicle type, especially in fire situations where specific fire-extinguishing agents are required instead of water. It was also mentioned that there are future plans to establish charging stations and designated parking areas for these vehicles, aiming to keep up with global developments and organize the flow of electric vehicles in a safer and more efficient manner.
