Putin Warns of Retaliation Over Seized Russian Ships
Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Moscow will respond in kind to any seizure of its commercial ships by Western countries, including in the Pacific Ocean. During the Pacific Fleet exercises, he stated that some nations are acting in a manner contrary to international law, considering the seizure and sale of ships and their cargoes, which he described as piracy and theft, warning that this could escalate tensions. He explained that Russia will take appropriate measures in any body of water, as the likelihood of conflict increases due to NATO's actions and military expansion. He emphasized that Russia does not pose a threat to Japan, despite being listed among its main threats by Tokyo.
