US Conducts Secret Mobile Missile Test in Morocco
The United States secretly tested a low-cost, mobile land-attack cruise missile in the Tan Tan desert in Morocco, as part of efforts to enhance its defensive capabilities and develop advanced combat technologies. The emerging defense technology company "Covenant" conducted a live test of the missile at a modern military facility owned by the U.S. Army, in collaboration with Moroccan forces, from August 3 to 7, 2026. This is the first of its kind and signifies the evolving military cooperation between Washington and Rabat. The test aims to assess capabilities under realistic conditions, accelerate the integration of new technologies for joint forces, and develop missile system capabilities, as well as expand future trials to address long-range firing systems and sensor technologies.
