Dutch port explosion kills one
An explosion occurred in the Europoort area of the Dutch port of Rotterdam, resulting in at least one death and injuries to others. Rescue crews are actively dealing with the incident and transporting the injured. The effects of the explosion were visible on a storage tank, and it is believed that maintenance work on the pipelines during disconnection was the likely cause. The nearby refinery also experienced a power outage that led to a fire and thick smoke caused by a gas line, but no confirmed link between the two incidents has been determined so far.
