Iran: Operation halted after Israeli attack
Iran announced that it had halted a plan to strike the Middle East region after Israel carried out an attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut. The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bagheri, said that Tehran was preparing to launch a strike, but ultimately Israel lifted the blockade on Lebanon, following Iranian threats to respond to Israel's recent attack. Bagheri also stated that the United States relies on lies and is detached from reality in its policies toward Iran and the region, considering that the tensions stem from unrealistic policies in Washington. The statements indicate that Iran was close to executing a military action in retaliation for the Israeli assault but halted it after changes in the battlefield conditions, amid ongoing tensions and verbal escalations between the two sides.
