Trump reveals plans for Greenland resource exploration
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will soon begin extensive exploration for oil, gas, and minerals on Greenland, considering it a strategic and vital defense barrier for the country's security. He highlighted that Greenland contains large deposits of mineral resources, including 24 out of 34 critical materials listed by the European Union. He explained that Greenland offers an important strategic location and timing for defense against potential threats, especially since any attack on the United States could pass through there. This move follows a signing of an agreement between the United States, Denmark, and Greenland in September to strengthen the American presence on the island, which is among the richest regions in terms of resources, despite the challenges of mining development due to natural conditions and lack of infrastructure.
